I’ve been waiting to hear awesome teacher responses to this question, but maybe all teachers find rubrics as challenging as I do…

NGPF has thrown around the idea of creating rubrics many times, but we always get stuck. If we make a 4-point scale, what about teachers who need/prefer 5-point scales? What if we make them on a Check, Check Minus, Check Plus sort of rubric, and people need Underdeveloped, Developing, Proficient, Expert? Should we make them extremely detailed and project-specific? Or should we do general rubrics that can be widely adopted? We can never decide, and so we’ve stalled in making rubrics.

That said, we DID create a few for a summer program we wrote for a partner school last year. Here are a few examples of what we came up with:

Case study: What College Should I Attend? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LdKdS72xfihMEvrS69Yh3S_ZXKZN3qWWM8RK5o3wxbc/edit

Corresponding rubric: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19gGw_gAa6cvds2vMqugDcQg4FYCLsstz_jwjbNy02Vg/edit

Plan a Spring Break Trip project: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pleCDhVS3bJp1Sfd-pdnoGDWnhsqykFeRrERLGP7FVk/edit

Peer Evaluation Sheet: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1puirvWcjrHbQk9mjrCoLs-hDAgTE1msWntE9T0uLMHs/edit

Corresponding rubric: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1szDUeYgYCsDnfr3K1dA2ioXRjQvOk-LpNOw0Sw4-8Ls/edit

I’d love feedback on the two rubrics I provided. Should NGPF create more rubrics like this? More rubrics, but a completely different format? Thoughts?

I am also interested in this especially for projects such as the Resume and cover letter, the above rubrics (spring break) I think is an awesome layout.
