I like to interject what I do in class with short videos that liven things up for the students. For example, when I introduce my credit card lesson, I show the “Don’t Buy Stuff You Cannot Afford” clip from Saturday Night Live (http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/dont-buy-stuff/n12020). I also use some of Peter Bielagus’ Money in the Movies videos (http://americasfinancialeducator.com/peter-bielagus-channel).

I’m always looking for more! Do you have any to share? Thanks!

-A little outdated, but “Your Life, Your Money” from PBS – http://www.pbs.org/your-life-your-money/videos.php
-I also like the “Better Money Habits” videos from Bank of America and Khan Academy – https://www.bettermoneyhabits.com/index.html
-The Dave Ramsey “Foundations of Personal Finance” curriculum has some great supplemental videos!

NGPF has developed a searchable playlist of short videos (most are 2-3 minutes in length) that you can access here (http://nextgenpersonalfinance.org/video-library/). A few favorites that we hear about from teachers:
-Credit Card debt explained with a glass of water (http://bit.ly/1PhxGly) shows how making the minimum payment makes it so costly and difficult to put a dent in your credit card balances.
-Lebron James asks Warren Buffett an investing question on CNBC (http://bit.ly/1PjWOtO). Buffett’s answer applies to 99% of the investing public.
-Spent: Looking for Change documents the challenges that face the unbanked in America (http://bit.ly/1PhxYch);

So, this YouTube channel, “In a Nutshell – Kurzgesagt,” has one of my favorite videos explaining the stock market (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3QpgXBtDeo), and now I just found another on Money & Credit (https://youtu.be/fTTGALaRZoc). Their videos are typically about scientific topics, but they’ve got these two on finance, and I hope they add more on the topic, too.

That’s a really narrow answer to your question, but both videos are just so good! HAHA.

Bill Cosby and his personal controversy aside – this clip from the pilot episode of the Cosby show is so funny and a great lesson in budgeting.
